How to use the Reduce Image Size in KB
- Add your photo, signature or document image.
- “Max file size” is selected. Enter the limit from your form, for example 50.
- If the limit is very small, also reduce the width (for example to 600 pixels).
- Press “Apply” and download the image.
Common upload limits
- Exam and job application photos: often 20–50 KB.
- Scanned signatures: often 10–30 KB.
- ID documents and certificates: often 100–300 KB.
- Email attachments: keep images under 1 MB each for easy sending.
If the size limit cannot be reached
Very small limits require smaller dimensions as well as compression. A 3000-pixel-wide photo cannot fit into 20 KB with acceptable quality, but a 400-pixel-wide version usually can. The tool tells you when the limit is not met so you can lower the width.
Frequently asked questions
Can I reduce an image to 20 KB?
Yes, in most cases. Enter 20 as the max size and reduce the width to around 300–500 pixels.
Which format gives the smallest size?
AVIF and WebP are the smallest, but many forms only accept JPG. JPG is preselected for compatibility.
Does the form also require specific pixel dimensions?
If so, set the width and height first, then the max size.
